The recently rediscovered first edition—now available for the first time in facsimile—does not have some of the errors made by the editors of the Denkmäler edition. The piece, in 7 movements or partitas and principally scored for 2 violins and bc (1 partita is for 2 viole d’amore & bass) employs scordatura tunings (”harmonia artificioso”) in the upper parts. Only partita VI is written for violins in normal tuning. Wrappers. $79
