A highly complex and fascinating manuscript scored for quadrupled woodwind, bass flute and bass oboe, full brass section with 6 horns and 2 tubas, percussion section requiring 5 players and 2 timpanists, as well as 2 harps, organ and strings. Includes a careful collation of the discrepancies between the manuscript and the various printed editions, a detailed analysis of the various “hands” in the manuscript, a reproduction of Holst’s 2-piano arrangment of “Mars” and 2-organ arrangement of “Neptune”. Handsome binding with green linen boards and gold lettering. $125
