Washington, D.C., 1976. 28 x 36 cm, 8, 81 pp. Halftone of the autograph score. Composed when Mendelssohn was 16 years old, this work was the first of its type in the literature. The manuscript, one of the Library of Congress’ most treasured works, was formerly in the possession of Musikbibliothek Peters. Although it is an extremely clean copy, it contains a number of markings and passages that were ultimately removed for the first edition.
