Oblong, 34 x 25 cm, 22, 4 + 8 pp. Full-color halftone of the composer’s c.1781-82 autograph (variations no. 8 & 10 are now missing), plus halftone of the first printed edition by Christoph Torricelli, reconstructed from two incomplete sources. These variations, based on the French tune “Ah, vous dirai-je Maman” (”Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star”), were, even during Mozart’s lifetime, immensely popular. Introduction in Ger-Eng.
