Italian tablature. 14 fantasias, transcriptions of works by Josquin, Gombert and Richafort, villancicos and romances for voice & accompaniment; diferencias (including 22 on “Conde claros” and 7 on “Guardame las vacas”) which provide early examples of variation. Like Luis de Milan's El Maestro, the notes of vocal line have been painstakenly printed with red ink (a precursor of Bach’s use of red ink for the Biblical texts of the St. Matthew Passion).
